Man in hospital after ladder fall
A builder is recovering in hospital after falling from a ladder and impaling himself on a six-inch nail. Firefighters cut the man free before he was taken to hospital.
The man, who is in his early 40s, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where last night doctors were trying to remove the remaining part of the nail from his back.
The accident happened at a house in Albert Road West, Heaton, where contractors were working on an extension.
